the Indian indices opened flat today amid mixed global cues with Nifty bellow 25,000.

The Sensex was down 146.44 points or 0.18 percent at 81,464.97, and the Nifty was down 41.30 points or 0.17 percent at 24,957.20. About 1341 shares advanced, 934 shares declined, and 124 shares unchanged.

HCL Technologies, Hindalco, Bajaj Auto, ONGC, Wipro were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Cipla, TCS, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel.
