This video documents the Indiana Transportation Museum FairTrain runs in August of 2001 during the Indiana State Fair. For the '01 FairTrain, ITM would lease HLCX 3676, a General Motors GP38AC built in 1971. HLCX 3676 has since changed hand many times & is now at the Louisiana & North West Railroad. The NKP business car No. 1 would be used on the FairTrain for the first time and later on became a staple of the FairTrain consist each & every year moving forward. ITMZ 200 carried the horn from Monon 96(A former Milwaukee Road F unit that operated for ITM from 1983 until it was retired in 1999) during the duration of the the 2001 Indiana State Fair. This video comes from the archives of the Late ITM Member Bob Blome, who for close to 30 years made videos covering each and every year the Fairtrain ran over the Ex. Monon & NKP Railroads.
