Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Review (PS5/Xbox/PC)
Indiana Jones & the Great Circle Fails in one key aspect, it is a good experience, but a terrible game. The gameplay in Indiana Jones absolutely sucks and is by far some of the worst I have ever experienced in a first person game. The open world exploration areas all feel unnecessary and take away from what the game does best. That of course is providing an extremely accurate Indiana Jones experience and the well made linear tombs and puzzle segments of the game. Atmosphere, music, voice acting, and even the story all are areas that the Great Circle succeeds. The problem is that too much makes a video game a video game is done horribly that it takes away from the overarching experience. Gameplay starts to feel like filler content and I was often left wishing that I could just keep watching the story unfold like a movie than have to participate in the awful hand to hand combat, terrible gunplay, and boring stealth mechanics. There is a semblance of something promising here but is overshadowed by all the various shortcomings.
