...Theres a fine line between love & hate...
"It's innocence lost"
For this round we were asked to make a video about a character we love and a character we hate...but with a twist! we have to show a quality we love in our most hated character and something we hate in our loved character.
This was hard, very very hard but in a good way, it really made me think about my characters and my editing choices.
Hated | India Stoker
India is about as twisted and psychopathic as it gets, she murders people, gets turned on by watching people die....oh the list is endless. However I wanted to focus on why she turned out like that, she did have a horrible childhood full of lies and betrayal and in one heroic act she does save her mother from being killed....proving she is not totally heartless and really is a product of her upbringing, which is quite tragic.
Love | Mike Waters
Mike Waters is a sensitive, kind and tragic character.
Homeless, narcoleptic and a prostitute he is the heart and soul of the film, desperately searching for somewhere to call home. Although I love this character, time and time again he falls on drugs to escape his problems...he manipulates his clients into giving him more money to fund his habit....these are of course actions I hate.
I hope I have done the task justice....in the end I wanted to show that Indias innocence was lost through her familys treatment of her and Mikes was lost through his own addiction to drugs.
