This incredible glass sculpture turns a few cuts into a beautiful flower using some clever physics

Total internal reflection is the phenomenon where light reflects around the inside of glass instead of transmitting through it if it hits the edges at the right angle

This piece (called Desert Flower and created by Christopher Ries), uses total internal reflection off carefully shaped glass to create this illusion
