Here are some options to increase fps without changing too much of the video settings. This tutorial will show you how to increase FPS in any game you have, so that you don't have to tone any of your video settings down as well as get a performance boost. Here are some other options to increase performance, you can change the view distance on ARK down, Anti Aliasing can be toned down a bit, General shadows, terrain shadows, Textures can be tinkered at your own risk considering it does quite a big effect on the game quality, Sky quality can be toned down, and ground clutter can be toned down, those two make a marginal performance increase.
