A bit more backstory/explanation
After The Null incident, Chris is forced into a coma after being decapitated by Neo in order to kill Null and bring his terrors to an end. All While killing Kruth at the same time and destroying the fate he had plan for him.
Neo ends up getting a white streak in his hair and is suddenly cured of Never ending.
While Chris is still lay in a hospital, Neo continues to feel conflicted about what he had to do to Chris. Slowly being pulled back into the fields of rage from which Null once exposed him to.

Small lore,
