The first Jenkins level I didn't love..
I've known about this level's existence every since I beat Zettabyte as a hardest back in 2020, and ever since then I planned on beating it at some point. Finally got around to it recently when I dropped Delta Interface and wanted to play something easy, then found this level sitting in one of my folders and decided to finally give it a go.
While learning it things were pretty smooth. I found it pretty fun to do in runs, and I was able to learn pretty much all of it within the span of an hour or so which is pretty good for my standards. I even got 25-100% on accident when I was learning it so I figured that I was gonna beat it pretty quickly.
Once I started playing from 0% though it all went to shit. The first 20% of this level was such a drag for me, being incredibly janky and inconsistent, which really pissed me off. It got to the point where I would be stuck at the first 20% (specifically the ball) for 20-30 minutes straight, and for a level of this difficulty, it's safe to say this level really got on my nerves.
I will say that luckily once I started to get consistent at the first 20%, 21-60% I actually found to be really enjoyable. I've always been a fan of this song, and the slow yet engaging gameplay really mixed well with the song, which resulted in me having the most fun in this section of the level. The buildup, consisting of the fast cube and the dual ball, was SUPER satisfying from 0%, especially since I was so good at it for the most part. I can thank this part for really saving my experience, because I was really worried I was gonna hate this level.
Sadly though, I wasn't a big fan of the drop. It was weirdly inconsistent at certain parts and incredibly janky at other parts, which resulted in me dying to the drop a grand total of 19 times, which I would consider a little unlucky considering how many runs I had to 100%. The drop itself was pretty satisfying when I was consistent, but it was just too weird for me to fully enjoy it.
Overall I still do like this level quite a lot. I love the decoration, it's very unique and despite its age I still think it looks really good. The song as mentioned before is something I also really liked. It's just the jankiness and weirdness that ruined my enjoyment for me. Well, that and the fact that I went into this thinking that it was going to be easier than it actually was. I was told that this level was easier than Acu, then after I beat it I checked and saw that this is much closer to Tech Manifestation in difficulty, which makes WAY more sense considering how much I struggled with it lmao
I would still recommend the level overall if you want to give it a shot, just keep in mind that it's quite and old level, and has a lot of jank that older levels have. But still, it's not a bad level at all
As I mentioned before, I dropped Delta Interface because I just didn't like it at all, so I'll be beating one more Extreme that I'm interested in before hopping right into Yatagarasu. Stay tuned!
