Hello and welcome into the Piles of Paragraphs Creative Space! I’m Lori, and today I’m trying my hand at making a small master board to use for inchies. I grab a simple index card, mark out my one-inch sections, and start layering bits of book pages, music paper, ledger, and vintage-style scraps to build lots of lovely background variation all at once.
This is an easy, low-pressure way to create a bunch of collage bases in one go — perfect for art journaling, mixed media, scrap projects, and tiny collage art. Instead of working on each inch individually (which can feel a bit fiddly), making a mini master board gives you coordinated but unique little pieces ready to decorate later.
A great stash-busting project and a fun way to add interest to your small-scale art!
