USC Village, which opened in 2017, is home to eight residential colleges where six faculty in residence live and work alongside 2,700 USC students above ground-floor retail. Three of the village’s inaugural faculty in residence — Ruth Chung, a professor of clinical education at the USC Rossier School of Education; Trisha Tucker, a professor of writing at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; and Broderick Leaks, a clinical professor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and director of counseling and mental health services at USC Student Health — are moving out after an eight-year tenure. They reflect on their experiences living in the complex with their families and pets, watching the emergence of a vibrant community hub and nurturing students’ growth.
