I have teased this already in a previous video, but I'll explain anyways:
After the failure of Evolutioverse A4 (due to various reasons) as a project, I decided to create a new series: In Ultima Solicitudin.
However, some of the concepts proposed there won't make any sense without proper setup, so I decided to do first a prequel, not only to In Ultima Solicitudin, but technically also to every other series, called In Ultima Solicitudin -The Origin-.
The aim of the series (both series techically) is to create a story that is truly memorable, unlike many other SM64 Machinima series that stuck in a good, but not memorable story, resulting in "Nice" and "Ok" comments (Including most, if not all of my older series)
First, I don't think I can stress enough that both IUS and IUS -TO- are handled way differently than Evolutioverse A4, which means some things.
Firstly, these series will have way more lore, foreshadowing, callbacks, motifs, etc. that A4 and earlier series would hope to have, and not only through dialogue and visuals, but through its retouches as well!
Do I even need to remind that there's a lot of symbolism in the series as well?
Precisely the retouches are one of the things I should speak about this series. Debuted in A4, this time there will be more storytelling, references, etc. through the usage of certain retouches that are related through either motifs or through their original songs (Remember that retouches are edited songs), and when I release them, I'll be commenting the reason for their usage. Not only that, but there will be a few original compositions (mostly in IUS -TO-) and a few retouches done by other people (mostly in IUS).
There are various changes in IUS and IUS -TO- compared to earlier series, for example, most of the crediting is done in the video credits (duh) rather than in the video description, or the usage of various camera angles, dynamic panning, various styles of shading, improved text font and text effects, among other improvements.
While the logos for IUS and IUS -TO- are simple, you should notice the duality Light Blue-Yellow, which will be important throughout the series to notice one of the main things this story is about.
A very important thing to note as well is that this time I'm not working alone in the series (though I'm still the main contributor), as Finbo, HyperKirbo3 and KoCat are involved in it as well, though I'm open for more people to join if they want to.
(SPOILERS FOR THIS VIDEO DOWN BELOW)
Now, for -The Origin- specifics:
While it's scripted, unlike IUS, not every piece of dialogue is scripted, but rather what happens in the scenes, which gives me more room for improvising in the dialogue (there's still planning behind it, don't worry) and cements the idea that the series' events occur in the past.
You'll notice soon that some of the retouches (and og compositions too) have a synth-like feel, which is evident, considering that most of the series takes place in a digital universe :o, and that some of the watchers' themes feel way too villainous for what are supposed to be "heroes". There's a reason for that (and why they have these specific retouches as themes) so you can theorize about that.
I'm not going to say much about the story, as you're better off watching the episodes for that. (Feel free to post your spicy theories about what will happen next)
I usually say this as well, but comments are really essential for me to know what you think. I will (except if it's a comment that doesn't need an answer) respond all of your comments, so feel free to post your opinions, ideas, feedback, etc.!
