For James, a 17-year-old refugee from South Sudan, his chapati rolex is more than just a popular street food – it’s his way of supporting his family and continuing his education.
Every day after school, James sets up his stall in Bidi Bidi refugee settlement, where his $1 rolex – a rolled chapati and egg – feeds both refugees and locals alike.
But like many others, James has felt the impact of rising food prices 📈💰🫓. With the help of WFP, over 1.3 million refugees in Uganda, including James and his family, receive the support they need to survive and thrive. Thanks to this assistance, James can focus on his studies while running his business in the evenings, helping to build a better future for himself and his community. 🌍💛
This #WorldFoodDay, we celebrate the power of food to not only fill stomachs but to create opportunities and hope. Have you ever tried a Ugandan rolex? Let us know in the comments! 👇👇👇
