I know, itâs only just September but I wrote this song as my granddaughter Charlotte was questioning why she didnt get to record a song like the others had. As they wonât be here again until mid October we took the opportunity to record this song last week.
I also want to submit this song to various radio shows that play Christmas songs and do that, as the title says âŠin time for Christmas đ
In Time for Christmas - an original Christmas song music and lyrics written by © Harriet Barbir August 2025
vocals Harriet B, Arabella Wilson and Charlotte Wilson
sketches by Arabella Wilson using procreate
Guitar, Piano etc played by Sebastian Stone

For budding guitarists - my songs will always have simple easy to play chords as these are the only ones I can play myself đ
In Time For Christmas
1st fret
(g) the snow is falling just in time for christmas
(am ) church bells echo through the village (d) square
(g) The fairy lights are twinkling by the harbour
they (am) welcome everyone whoâs gathered (d) there
(c) But you are far (am) away from
me this (em) Christmas
who (c) knows how many (am)nights like this weâll (d) share
(g) tell me youâll be back in time for Christmas
and iâll (am) tell you now how happy i would (d) be
if you (g) tell me youâve made plans and that youâll be here
it would (am) be the greatest (d) gift that there could (g) be
(g) i know you had to leave and cannot be here
I (am) know youâre working hard for (d) family
I (g) try to tell myself itâs just one season
then my (am) heart tells me that you (d) should be with me
(c) But you are far (am) away from
me this (em) Christmas
(c) who knows how many christmasses (am) thereâll (d7) be
(g) tell me youâll be home in time for xmas
to (am) walk beside me as we choose the ( d) tree
if (g)only you could say you plan be here it would (am) be the greatest (d)gift youâd give (g) to me
(am) I keep waiting for your (d7) footsteps
(em)a key turned in the door and you (c) appear
(am) days of peace, and love and (d7) laughter
(em) wouldnât be the same without you (c) here.(d7)
(g) tell me youâll be back again this Christmas
and iâll (am) hang an extra stocking by the (d) tree đČ
if you tell me youâve made plans and that youâll be here
it would (am) be the greatest (d) gift that there could (g) be
