This video is part of the massive, interactive Virtual Mount Everest tour on the unDefined Blog here: jakenorton.com/virtual-mount-everest-tour-is-live/. Climb Mount Everest ... virtually! Over 8.5 gigapixels of information, 47 panoramas, 800+ hotspots with information, links, videos, and more.
On May 24, 2019, Sid Pattison, Ken Sauls, and I made our way into The Warts - two rocky lumps sitting off the climbing route on the Northeast Ridge of Mount Everest at 27,600 feet. We were trying to see if we could find evidence of Andrew "Sandy" Irvine up there, as there were reports from climbers seeing a body in roughly that are in 1960 (Xu Jing) and 1995 (Chhiring Dorje).
While not overly difficult terrain, it is steep and exposed, and there were many climbers traversing the slopes below, forcing us to be extremely careful of knocking rocks down upon them.
