This is my old ponysona, Chocolate Mint (who i turned into a normal OC after giving her a backstory), and I felt shed fit the meme!

warning for extensive and incoherent oc rambling below... thou hast been warned
so. this universe/world has two main kingdoms, sollis the day kingdom (might change the name?), and nocteram, the night kingdom. since everyone in this world is an animal hybrid theyre divided into two groups, diurnal animals and nocturnal animals! ( i know crepuscular animals are a thing but for simplicitys sake they count as Nocturnals) at some point there was one big kingdom, but the diurnal royalty drove out the nocturnals and now there r two separate kingdoms. not totally sure how long ago this happened in the lore yet! astair is prince of the day kingdom, and caspian is... some guy. hes meant to have an important rank in the night kingdom!! but i have no idea what yet x x i dont want him to be another prince though
all i know for now is that they meet and Hate each other but have no choice but to work together to accomplish... something?
im not too sure about the nocturnal kingdom in general since i basically bulldozed its concept and am rebuilding it from the ground up, but all i know is that although theyre a kingdom they dont really have an actual royalty system theyre just called that. the kingdom itself is very makeshift in nature and so is whatever system that runs it
so you may be asking. hey darcy. arent cats crepuscular and therefore considered a Nocturnal in this world?? why would a family of cats be ruling the kingdom of Diurnals and be responsible for driving all the Nocturnals out?? and the answer is... i dont know yet BUT it is something that is relevant and not just an oversight!! i need to find out a motive for why the king did this but it is something he did alright. the royal family is rlly corrupt aside from astair and his little sister briar (well mostly... astair is mean and nasty at first hes kind of awful. briar is a lot more open minded and critical of everything shes been told about the way the world works. in fact she does leave the kingdom at some point before the story starts and starts living in nocteram! and actually i think thats the reason astair goes there in the first place, to try and find her)
OH on that topic, astair and briar (at first, but she catches on) dont actually know that theyre nocturnals, and the very thing they were taught to hate. astair never really realises the fact that hes never seen any catfolk aside from his family members or the fact that he feels alert at night. at some point he and briar have a confrontation about this where shes figured it out, that theyre nocturnals and at some point the king drove out all others like them for some reason and she wants his help in finding out why, and astair refuses to accept this at first because hes still pretty conditioned into his perfect prince role
