Before America had a history, Jewish Americans were already helping write it. ✡️

Welcome to Jewish Voices, American Stories—a podcast exploring the faith, history, and biblical values that helped shape the United States, brought to you by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

In Episode 4, we journey back to the earliest days of the American story—when Jewish communities were already building lives, defending freedom, and helping shape a new nation founded on hope and liberty.

🕍 Touro Synagogue, the oldest still standing in the U.S., is a powerful symbol of religious freedom in America. Built by a small Jewish community seeking refuge and opportunity, it became part of a promise later affirmed by President George Washington himself: that America would give “to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance.”

⚔️ Francis Salvador, the first known Jewish patriot to die for American independence, gave his life fighting for a nation not yet fully formed—believing in the promise of liberty and a better future.

🛡️ Solomon Bush, an officer in George Washington’s army during the Revolutionary War, was wounded at the Battle of Brandywine and later exposed a threat within the Continental forces—reminding us that the fight for freedom depended on the courage and sacrifice of ordinary people.
These stories reveal a profound truth: Jewish Americans were part of the American story from the very beginning. Building communities. Defending freedom. And helping shape a nation rooted in faith, courage, and hope.

🎧 Listen now and discover the forgotten Jewish voices woven into the founding of America.
