Marvels Spider-Man Miles Morales takes place one year after the events of the previous Spider-Man game which was originally released on PS4 in 2018. The new game begins with Miles Morales and his mother Rio Morales moving from Brooklyn, New York to Harlem after Miles grandmother leaves New York to live in Puerto Rico.
Miles is still processing his fathers passing, which he was helpless to prevent in the events of Spider-Man 2018, and still learning about his new powers which he gained after being bitten by a genetically engineered spider which had escaped a secret lab belonging to none other than Norman Osborn.
When the game begins, Miles finds out that he must deal with his personal problems and protect New York all by himself when Peter Parker, the protagonist of Spider-Man 2018 and Miles super-hero mentor, tells him that he plans to fly to Symkaria with Mary Jane Watson for a working vacation.
