In the next 4 episodes, Lucy and Erin explore the practicalities of staging an Ancient Greek play in a modern theatre building, using the records held at the National Theatre's Archive.

This episode looks at the different ways the two productions of Philoctetes at the National Theatre approached staging an ancient play for a modern world; Kae Tempest's 2021 reworking of Philoctetes, titled 'Paradise', in the Olivier Theatre, directed by Ian Rickson, and Keith Johnson's adaptation in 1964.
