"In Our Quarantine" stemmed from an Opinion piece I wrote for the American Pancake Music Blog concerning the current virus that has taken over our hearts and minds and is causing so much pain and fear worldwide. The article was short on answers but the tenor of the piece was how we as human beings (in my opinion) must all feel interconnected, not only to each other but to all creatures and the earth itself. That we need to be better stewards of our environment and truly feel like one large family. We have to because what affects one really affects all and we are in this all together. The notion that a rising sea effects all boats has to be embraced. If our neighbor does better, spiritually, economically etc then we all do better. It is in our best moral interest to think this way. Yes, it is a hippie notion but an important one. The song touches on that in a number of ways (We are We) without getting too preachy or too maudlin but, in the end, it is a bittersweet lullaby of sorts with a Chamber Pop bridge.
The video was shot home style at the home I am currently staying at and pretty much staying put except to go out and get essentials and walk the dog.
