on February 5th this year, Stéphane Picq sadly lost his fight against cancer and passed away at the age of 59 😢
Stéphane Picq is well known in our retro pc community as the composer of great games music like the Dune soundtrack. He knew how to use the Yamaha OPL2 like no other, and his compositions are masterpieces. He`s now gone, we will remember - and his legacy will stay forever!
Lets honor Stéphane with one of his less known compositions - the MegaRace soundtrack!
I chose the Yamaha OPL3SA (YMF719) as playback device, because his music deserves genuine hardware. The card ran on a Pentium 233 MMX system and I used MS-DOS and the SBVGM32-player.
