I in no way could have prepared myself to write this.
It was just made public that one of our teammates on Sonic Villains, Stephen Neville, artist name TheByMyself, passed away early this month as reported by his family on all his socials in an accident.
Stephen was one of the first composers I'd looked into for the movie nearly 3 years ago at this point, & through it he created the song "Villains" & I could never thank him enough for taking the time in his life to create something for us.

I remember contacting him for the movie right after being blown away by a song he'd just released in hype for the first Sonic Movie, We Are Sonic. He had such an incredible flow to his songs & he was so beautifully gracious when I emailed him and asked if he'd like to write a song for us. Incredibly open to any ideas I was willing to throw his way & so excited to create something for a fandom he was passionate about. He was often vividly vocal about wanting to work for the franchise in music officially, especially for the films, & I honest to god felt that he could & would in due time. I really hope we were able to help make his dream feel a little closer to reality.

Please cherish those around you that treat you with even a slither of genuine kindness, PLEASE. You never know when they'll no longer be there. This movie will now forever be in his memory. I pray that he left loved & with the knowledge that he had a plethora of people that supported his journey in music & appreciated his heart.
