In pure coincidence, I saw John Fugelsang post about his book Separation of Church and Hate charting next to Toxic Empathy in Spirituality last week, which felt incredibly emblematic of where we are spiritually as a country.
I decided to loan a copy off Toxic Empathy from my library so I could know the inner workings of far right conservatives, in an effort to better protect others from their rhetoric.
A few days after I finished it, I saw @aprilajoy share one of her comments on a post defending the actions of our current administration, and it happened to be Allie Beth Stuckey herself.
There’s a lot I disagree with in her book, but in this instance of her speaking in favor of unfair policing and the administration that is unaliving innocent civilians and disappearing people on the basis of the color of their skin, I felt the need to dive into her chapter on immigration.
