Indian-born and US-educated, Naren Shaam is a startup entrepreneur currently residing in Berlin, following his MBA at Harvard University and working in NY for a few years in financial services.
After conceiving the idea for an innovative search engine that compares train, bus, flight and car rental options, Naren relocated to Berlin in April 2012 to found GoEuro which received a number of early rounds of funding from major top tier VCs including Battery Ventures, Hasso Plattner Ventures and Lakestar. Since then the company has also welcomed Charles Petruccelli, former President of Global Business Travel for American Express as a new investor, joining other notable names from the travel industry such as Dave Baggett (co-founder and ex-COO of ITA Software) and John Owen (former CFO and founding team member of JetBlue Airways).
GoEuro now has comprehensive coverage in seven countries across Europe, providing service to over 20,000 train stations, 10,000 bus stations and hundreds of airports in Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. The company has progressed significantly in the past year and a recent $27 million investment will support this growth path to solidify its position as the continent’s leading multi-mode travel platform.
