In the first half of 2019, I took a break from music to focus on documentary filmmaking. After a 5 month absence from composition, I felt like writing something light, simple and energetic, an EP that would embody my composition aesthetic but with a more minimalist approach to instrumentation.
The piano became my instrument of choice in the process and my writing instincts naturally guided me towards melodic division, syncopation and convergence. Some of the conflicting ideas that were occupying my mind had made their way into my music and were finally allowed to dissipate into togetherness and harmony.
