The 2026 Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen delivered another classic endurance battle, with strategy, reliability, and late-race execution proving just as important as outright pace. In the GTP category, the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R of Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, and Frederik Vesti controlled much of the race, leading 143 of 182 laps on the way to a commanding victory. Action Express Racing converted pole position into its second consecutive overall win, despite nine full-course cautions and a frantic closing hour, extending Cadillac's momentum in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship while also claiming Michelin Endurance Cup honors.
In GTD PRO, Vasser Sullivan with Dreyer & Reinbold returned to Victory Lane as Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat guided the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 to an emotional victory. Starting from pole, the Lexus pair stayed clear of much of the race's chaos and executed their fuel strategy perfectly, ending a 25-race winless streak for the team. The win also carried added significance as the program honored the late Dennis Reinbold, making the result especially meaningful for the Vasser Sullivan organization.
For Ford Multimatic Motorsports, the race was one of mixed fortunes. The No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3 remained in contention throughout the six-hour contest and ultimately secured a third-place podium finish in GTD PRO. However, the sister No. 65 Mustang's day ended dramatically when Christopher Mies was collected in a massive final-lap incident in the Esses, triggering the race-ending caution while battling near the front. The crash eliminated what had been another strong run for the Ford program, preventing the team from capitalizing on the Mustang GT3's competitive pace.
