Heavy rain had started cutting deep ruts and washing out my 3km mountain driveway, so it was time to fix the drainage once and for all.
Using my vintage Hitachi UH043 excavator and 12-ton Aveling Barford grader, I dug new roadside ditches and installed recycled 400mm culvert pipes under the road to carry water safely to the downhill side.

The drainage now handles even the heaviest rain without erosion, old iron still gets the job done!

Machines used:
• Vintage Hitachi UH043 Excavator
• 12-Ton Aveling Barford 6 wheel Motor Grader
