Here's a really simple way to improve the accuracy of a white balance taken from a white or grey card when using Sony's FX6 or FX9 cameras, as well as many others. By using a mask or matte to in front of your lens to remove any other distracting colours from the scene it is possible to get a more accurate white balance when the white card doesn't completely fill the screen.
