nyfw is a simulation & my ego needed it
i almost didn’t go to nyfw - apart of me felt it was filled with ego & ppl attempting to position themselves in close proximity to brands/celebrities in an attempt to prove a point. as an influencer, it felt inevitable that that would be my role there. but like with any experience, nyfw is going to reflect back to you exactly what energy you come to it with. when u strip away all the bussiness/profit associated with fashion, there is so much beauty in the art of ppl expressing themselves through style. getting to meet other creators that I’m inspired by, admiring the street style, the love at small designers’ events, dancing to my fav artists - filled me with an overwhelming sense of love for a community that I previously thought was one I wouldn’t vibe with.
whenever u are given the chance, I just encourage you to embrace new worlds where ur ego is triggered, & find joy in observing it. ask yourself what bothers u about seeing other ppl posting certain things online or carrying themselves a certain way. use everything as a lesson to learn about yourself & recognize that again, it is all you.
