Stage six of a Touhou 08: Imperishable Night replay in which I 1cc the game on the Lunatic difficulty without ever bombing. This replay is a few years old, and I'm posting these videos as part of an ongoing Let's Play at Something Awful.
Imperishable Night might have an unforgivably sleepy stage five, but stage six makes up for it and then some. Eirin gets the party started, and her non-card is the nastiest thing a Touhou final stage midboss throws at the player outside of Eternal meek. Kaguya then hits the ground running with a series of difficult, dense, and highly random attacks that force you to keep moving via aimed shots and moving clusters of bullet density. I love this part of the battle - it's extremely fun and intense. Unfortunately, the second half of the Kaguya battle takes the opposite approach, with boring and highly static attacks. This half of the battle is still quite difficult, making Kaguya one of the most difficult final bosses in the series.
