The Section 89 Impeachment Committee has rescinded the nomination of advocate Thandazani Madonsela as its chief evidence leader.

This follows a complaint by President Cyril Ramaphosa that Madonsela may act in biased manner given that he had terminated his appointment to the Judicial Service Commission in 2022.
