Asian American Writers Workshop | Imagining Identity Across the Pond with Romalyn Ante, Will Harris, and April Yee @AAWWNYC | Uploaded January 2021 | Updated October 2024, 21 hours ago.
This January, the Asian American Writers’ Workshop and London-based writer April Yee present a reading with two of the UK’s leading poets: Will Harris (RENDANG) and Romalyn Ante (Antiemetic for Homesickness). This vibrant reading will incorporate visual objects and oral choruses to meet the complexities of communicating beyond place and language. Following their reading, Will and Romalyn will examine how Asian identity is constructed outside of the United States and discuss the ways British colonialism and capitalism continue to shape ideas of what and who belongs. This weekend discussion will be spirited by both ancestors and libations (BYOB).
