Hi everyone!
I think that this might be the last of the old process videos that I found on my camera card! There is one more and it is a Halloween ATC that I made last October, so I think I will wait to share that one until this Autumn.
I went back and forth trying to decide if I should share this one with you, but I decided "Why not?". I have been a long time follower of Dede Willingham (links below!), 8 years actually because my youngest son was only a couple of months old when I discovered her and he turned 8 in January. She is an amazing artist and if you don't follow her you need to! She started doing reverse collage in a book called Abandoned Places and it's one of my favorite things to watch her do. I bought my book many years ago at Barnes and Noble and let it sit forever, until last June when I finally decided to give it a try. Since it was my first time doing anything like that, I didn't record my process and I sure wish that I had. But, I do have a before and after photo of the spread that I did to show you at the end of this video.
I have been collecting images that I thought would work for this type of collage in a drawer and for this video, I show my looking through some of those images and seeing if I could find pages and places where thy might work. Since I filmed this video, I did go back and glue a few of the images down, but nothing since then. Hopefully I will get inspired to start working in this book again, because it really is a lot of fun and is a completely different type of collaging experience!
