@perpetualpages is, as always, such a champion for literature and has done amazing work promoting marginalized authors and getting as much awareness as possible for books that would otherwise fly under the radar.
@KathyTrithardt has opened up a discussion about the censorship of the word "queer" in YouTube's comment section, how queer users are forced to self-censor their identities if they wish to discuss that in the comments of videos, and how this is wrong.
@thunderbirdwomanreads4641 and Erin's Library (youtube.com/channel/UCIg85xcWEPm-JpaixOD-YGQ) have recently made the jump from Bookstagram to Booktube and continue their work in promoting Native literature and holding the publishing and reviewing worlds accountable for the racist actions taken against Native reviewers.
I think about @CeciliaReads video Books All White People Need To Read constantly. There are so many things that Cecilia said in that video that need to be heard over and over, discussing the BLM movement and how NBPOC interact with Black content.
Of course, there are too many Booktubers to name that have done their share of work to improve the community in a year where so many THINGS have happened. This list is just a small fraction of the people who have made a difference in my year that I think you should support.
