Monday 3rd August 2026 and I'm up on our Middle Braniel Road, near our Belfast Castlereagh hills home, straightening a road sign. I'm also cleaning the dirt and algae that is trying to obscure the signage.
Unfortunately from experience, our council have no time, money, or indeed interest, in maintaining road signs.
I did a similar clean up on this road sign, back in October 2023. -Don't wait for the local council to do it,........It will never be done! Don't just sit and grumble! Grumbling will do nothing to change the situation.
Do it yourself! That way it will be done!
I have heard of other good neighbours who are doing the same sign cleaning near their homes. Well done folks!
