UNAPOLOGETIC mom-of-five Blasian (26) has made a name for herself on TikTok talking about something most people shy away from. After becoming pregnant with her first child at just 14 years old, the teen mom had enough to worry about - but when she was diagnosed with herpes two years later, she admits "it messed with [her] confidence." And when Blasian went on to become pregnant again, new fears were unlocked. She told Truly: "I was very nervous - I thought my kid would catch it, I thought I would have to have a c-section." Fortunately, all four of her children since then have been born herpes-negative and their mom's strict hygiene precautions around the house have kept them safe - she even eats from disposable plates to ensure her children don't "catch it." But since Blasian bravely chose to share her experiences as a young mom with herpes online, she has also had to protect them from judgement. Her eldest son Jailyn (11) has been "picked on" by other children who have seen his mom's TikTok videos attempting to dismantle the stigmas associated with herpes. Jailyn told Truly: "It makes me feel sad sometimes, but I just ignore it" and Blasian is also teaching his younger siblings - Josiah (8), Kyree (6), Keyone (6) and Lyric (4) - to do the same. Despite equipping her kids to deal with the negativity that might come their way, she faces regular questions in her comments section around her decision to open them up to ridicule in the first place: "Why would you make this public? Poor kids." On top of that, she has had pressure from family and friends to consider the impact on her children as they close in on high school. So when close friend Decee calls her today, will Blasian finally give in to the pressure? Or is her dream to "educate people" still something she refuses to give up on?
