Some historical figures become legendary because they do great feats in the public eye.

Johnathan Chapman did so, far away from social scrutiny. He did it because he wanted to spread a message and provide comfort and sustenance to those who opened the frontier of America.

This is my take on why he is such a legend and a hero in my eyes.
