I’M HITTING THE GOLF BALL ⛳️ FURTHER THAN I USED TO BEFORE MY LOW BACK INJURY
Yet another exciting “event” wall signing at CPC - this time we have Josh celebrating his return to the links and his ability to play his favorite sport (i.e. “event”) better than ever.
This is a common theme and one that I stress - yes, injuries suck, but you’ve got to find the silver lining!
How so?
Every single injury is an opportunity to learn about your body and ultimately to enhance performance.
For Josh that meant working on not just the root cause of his low back pain, but including other “areas of opportunity” we found in office during his assessment so when it was time to return to the course, he was set up to perform better than ever.
In office treatments included:
-spinal & extremity adjustments
-dry needling w/ e-stim
-cupping
-Neubie E-stim
We didn’t only work on his low back, but we included his hips, feet, and even ribcage to improve his ability to swing a his driver; putting together a 3 exercise sequence for him to do directly before playing to open up all of those areas.
We also re-worked his bracing strategy in the gym that then bled out onto the back nine (a la DNS-style breathing and bracing you know I am so headstrong on teaching folks as the single most important skill to combat chronic low back pain).
The result of this multi-faceted approach is him playing better than ever without having to limp back to his truck after a weekend tournament or even just a driving range session.
If you aren’t able to hit your driver as far as you would like, or if you have an “event” you want to improve at yourself, I can help!

PS Josh is the pastor at @seawallchurch in Galveston so if you’re looking for a small, high energy community, check it out!
