I've come to the conclusion that I really need a reference binder for work. I do have some other binders setup at work (large 3 ring binders) that have research, forms etc. on certain topics or areas of interest. But I really need a reference binder for all the things I have to refer back to regularly and because remembering everything gets harder as I get older! I need to be able to keep notes and reference information on key technical aspects and general business info so that I can be the best at my job that I can.
It look me a bit to get here and decide on how I wanted to setup a binder and if I wanted to use rings or discbound. But the launch of the @SterlingInk tomoe river paper ring inserts really sealed the deal. And I couldn't be happier.

As much as I love the look of my A5 Filofax Original the fact that it will just not lay flat is driving me bonkers. I want my work reference binder to be super functional and that means I cant be frustrated to use it and open it. So after some serious thought I decided to take the plunge and buy a VDS TM Alezan A5 Manager and Im really excited to unbox this.
I decided to get RTS because the customizations I wanted werent necessary and the cost difference was just too great. A RTS A5 Manager with 154 Euro (~165 USD) where as the custom A5 Manager starts at 232 Euro (~$249 USD) for 35mm and 228 Euro (~$244 USD) for 25 mm. So before adding any add-on costs for extra poppers, thicker straps, etc. its about $80 USD more expensive. Just not worth it for my reference binder.
As I mentioned, I left my reference binder at home so check back for a follow-up video where we will compare this to the Filofax and move it!
