In this week’s episode we cover:
1. Socks with texture on the bottom! I’ve made pairs of your Bear Paw socks for my whole family and the one struggle I’m having is that right on the bottom of the heels, the ribbing wears extra thin. I’ve been darning my little heart out fixing them. I’m trying to make a pair of the DRK everyday socks, but I just haven’t been having luck with ribbing that goes under the foot. Do you have that problem? What would you do to fix it? Could I just leave the bottom of the foot as stockinette or would that change the circumference too much? Thanks!
2. Hello! I love to wear shawls, cowls, basically anything around my neck. I also love to wear makeup and like to blend my foundation down my neck. I was hoping for some tips and tricks on washing makeup out of our delicate knits. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer all these questions. It has truly been invaluable and I can't thank you enough!
3. Could I knit the Tessellated pullover or cardigan with just the MC and then a fluffy yarn for both CCs? So really making it 2 colors vs 3 colors. Will this dramatically affect the row gauge do you think? I knit the pullover already in 3 colors and think it would be fun to try a 2 color version. What are your thoughts?
4. I am so inspired by your videos and patterns! You are why I have started spinning and am about to dive into sewing! I am curious how in the world people do magic of drafting fiber while their supported spindles are spinning. Is this something that just happens after a while? Is it dependent on the type of supported spindle? Mine just stops spinning as soon as I try. Also side question, what do you use to curl your bangs? They are always so cute and perfect! / Hello Andrea, can we talk about support spindles? I'm seeing them everywhere (thanks to you I think!), but I'm not seeing support spindles for sale many places. I am fairly well immersed in the fiber arts community and am not finding them at local wool events or yarn shops. The few I have seen online seem a fair bit more pricey than drop spindles, and maybe I need to get a bowl too? Can you tell us about the equipment and where we can get them at a range of price points?

5. I am spinning for the Traveler Sweater KAL. I bought all the fiber and now I have a storage problem. I am spinning on a wheel. I know you talked about storing your spun yarn on weaving bobbins. I bought some to do just that. Now that I have transferred the spun yarn to the weaving bobbins I don't know how to proceed. How do you get the yarn plied??? From the weaving bobbins? HELP I'm stuck and don't know how to proceed.
P.S. I have watched every single episode of I'l KNIT and have learned something every single time. Thanks for taking the time to do these. They are so inspiring!!!
