My arrangement of Nini Rosso's 1965 hit, "Il Silenzio" (The Silence).
Recorded March 27, 2013. David Miller, all instuments.
I grew up hearing this tune years before I ever wanted to play the trumpet. The LP we had of it, with Roy Etzel playing the piece, was among my father's favorite records, so I heard it a lot growing up. When I did start playing trumpet at the age of 11, it was the first tune I transcribed off of a record. I'd often perform miniature recitals for the family playing this song.
I hadn't thought about the tune in a very long time, but recently while going through my music collection and coming across it, I decided I wanted to record it. I made my own arrangement based off the four different recordings I have of the song. I used my Yamaha keyboard for the drum, string, bass, and harp parts. (A breakdown of tracks used is posted below). I hope you enjoy this song. Thank you for listening! Dave

No tube, etc., preamp was used this time.
All into a Tascam DP-008 and mixed in Cool Edit Pro on the laptop.
