The year is 1867. It's been 3 years since the original Battle of the Wilderness when a meteor struck mid battle and dead soldiers became reanimated. The Union and the Confederacy set aside their differences and agreed to focus on their common enemy, the undead. In the first year, it seemed all was lost. The zombie horde could not be contained. They spread as far north as New York and as far south as Georgia. But the decaying bodies began to atrophy and slow. The zombies became slower moving and easier to kill.
The next two years saw both sides turning the tide. North and South made a hard-fought effort to push the horde all the way back to where it all started, the dense woods of northern Virginia. Now victory and the end of this war is in sight. Confederate and Union armies are arriving at the Wilderness to eradicate the zombies for good.
