A while ago I did a vid on an IKEA Basisk floor lamp that I removed the inline dimmer from so it could be used with external control gearboxes for high-intensity discharge lamps, mainly metal halide and deluxe mercury vapour.

Well it worked well but it was quite bright so I decided to modd it to a full uplighter.
I had an old IKEA Champagne ice bucket sitting around doing noting so I decided to drill a hole in the bottom and use it instead! The handles were only spot weled to the body so a sharp knock with a brass rod and a big hammer and they popped right off.

Does a very good job of directing the light at the ceiling where it is bounced back down very softly :)
I would have liked to have used a more rounded stainless fruit or mixing bowl but I couldn't find one that was deep enough for the lamp & holder.

Shown running a 70w Osram Powerball HCI-E/P lamp in colour 942.
Ballast box has a Tridonic dual-tap choke for 50 or 70w SON or MBI lamps and I have others for MBF lamps.
