During his 1961 tour of Aotearoa, Igor Stravinsky was captured conducting the National Orchestra (now known as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra) in this performance of the "Finale" from his composition, "The Firebird Suite".

Filmed at the Wellington Town Hall, this film was a co-production between the National Film Unit and the New Zealand Broadcasting Service.
