While drunk, they recorded Have You Heard The Word, though it was not intended for release, yet it somehow ended up on a record credited as being by The Fut, and with an instrumental song that is, for reasons unbeknownst to me, sometimes called Futting Around and other times merely labeled as Futting. Futting (Around) was not made by the people behind Have You Heard The Word, and it is unknown who actually made it-- surely not helped by the lack of vocals. Futting (Around) is supposedly years older than Have You Heard The Word.Have You Heard The Word, due to Maurice Gibb singing with a John Lennon impression apparently able to convince even Yoko Ono, has appeared on Beatles bootlegs, and through association, Futting (Around) has as well. The Fut is sometimes mislabeled as The Futz on such bootlegs (though, can it really be called a mislabel if The Fut is not a real band in the first place?).If you notice, the Beacon record (the original) actually credits Futting as being by 'The Tuf', while the Fut Records version (bootleg) has it as Futting Around by The Fut. As the Beacon version has The Fut written in bigger and bolder text than The Tuf, and the fact that Tuf and Fut look rather similar, it's not too odd that this detail would be missed by 'Fut Records', though what is odd, however, is that the song name somehow gained a word.But, then, who are The Tuf?Hopefully this upload is appreciated; it was rather more difficult to find this song than I'd prefer.
