This is an educational Vocal Coach analysis of Ado and her live performance of “AiAiA” on THE FIRST TAKE. This is the title track of her 2026 album and sees her reunite with composer and vocaloid producer “Kikuo”, who helped launched Ado into stardom when she covered his “Aishte Aishte Aishte”.
This is a chaotic, cartoon-like explosion of sound, blending unsettling textures, rapid-fire vocal shifts and extreme technical control that most singers would find impossible. We explore the key vocal choices that define the performance, from her witchy forward placement to distorted high notes that combine head voice, vibrato and grit all at once. The contrast and control when switching between clean and aggressive textures, paired with unpredictable phrasing and obsessive repetition, creates a work of spiralling intensity.
