ููููููุฏู ุณูุฑูููุชู ุนูููู ุงูุธูููุงูู
ู ุจูู
ุบูุดูู
ู - ุฌูููุฏู ู
ููู ุงููููุชูููุงูู ุบูููุฑู ู
ูุซูููููู
I travelled in the darkness of the night, with a daring one
A resolute one from amongst the youths, who is well-loved
ู
ูู
ูููู ุญูู
ููููู ุจููู ููููููู ุนูููุงููุฏู - ุญูุจููู ุงููููุทูุงู ููุนูุงุดู ุบูููุฑู ู
ูููุจูููู
From those (women) who have become with child, while having tightenedโ
โthe ends of their waistbelts; he has grown up to be not disdained.
In Jahiliyyah, they believed that if the woman conceives against her will, then the child will grow up to be a warrior.

ูุฒูุคููุฏูุฉู - ููุฑูููุงู ููุนูููุฏู ููุทูุงููููุง ููู

She had conceived him on a frightful night
Unwilling; the knot of her waist-belt not loosened
ููุฃูุชูุชู ุจููู ุญููุดู ุงููููุคูุงุฏู ู
ูุจูุทูููุงู - ุณูููุฏุงู ุฅุฐูุง ู

ู ูููููู ุงูููููุฌููู
Thus she had birthed him wild of heart, uneager his stomach
He stays awake much, even as the lazy one slumbers through the night
ููุฅุฐูุง ููุจูุฐูุชู ูููู ุงููุญูุตูุงุฉู ุฑูุฃูููุชููู - ููููุฒูู ููููููุนูุชูููุง ุทูู
ููุฑู ุงูุฃุฎููููู
If you tossed a pebble towards him, you will see him โ
โ jolt up, as it falls, like a frightened roller bird

If he wakes up from his slumber, you will see him โ
โ stand up rigidly like the heel bone; he is not weak

ูุณู ุงูุฃูุฑูุถู ุฅูุงูู ู

ููููู ููุญูุฑููู ุงูุณููุงูู ุทูููู ุงูู

Nothing touches the ground (when he sleeps) except his shoulder,
And the edges of his calf, thinly like a sword-scabbard
ููุฅุฐูุง ุฑูู
ูููุชู ุจููู ุงููููุฌูุงุฌู ุฑูุฃูููุชููู - ููููููู ู
ูุฎูุงุฑูู
ูููุง ููููููู ุงูุฃุฌูุฏููู
If you toss him onto the mountainous tracts, you will see him โ
โ climb up to the summits, like a falcon
ููุฅุฐูุง ููุธูุฑูุชู ุฅูู ุฃูุณูุฑููุฉู ููุฌููููู - ุจูุฑูููุชู ููุจูุฑููู ุงููุนูุงุฑูุถู ุงูู

If you look at the lines of his face (on his forehead)
They glow like lightning flashing through a rain-laden cloud
ุตูุนูุจู ุงูููุฑููููุฉู ูุง ููุฑุงู
ู ุฌููุงุจููู - ู
ูุงุถูู ุงูุนูุฒูู
ูุฉู ููุงูุญูุณุงู

He is hard to destroy in battle
He executes his will, like a sharp, slicing sword

He defends his companions during the calamity
And when they dismount, he is the refuge of the poor
