If I tweaked my shoulder, these are the first 3 things I’d focus on as a physiotherapist
1. I’d keep it moving
I wouldn’t completely stop using my shoulder. I’d find comfortable ranges of motion and keep it gently moving without repeatedly aggravating it.
2. I’d temporarily modify what irritates it
Instead of pushing through painful presses, heavy lifting, or overhead movements, I’d adjust the load, range, or exercise while things settle.
3. I’d gradually rebuild strength
Once tolerated, I’d start progressively loading the shoulder and rotator cuff to rebuild its capacity for everyday activities and training.
The goal isn't to baby your shoulder. It's to keep it moving and gradually build it back up. 💪
