Today is my last day of classes with the graduation ceremony from Miami University next weekend! I made this video my first semester at Miami University with one of my friends from high school, and it seemed fitting to post it on my channel now that I'm finished!
The assignment was to make a music video and essentially to learn about video editing software and how to make an effective presentation, or something along those lines. We recorded this almost 5 years ago, so I'm slightly fuzzy on the instructions. We were the only group to record the song ourselves, everyone else just downloaded an MP3. My friend and I both sang and I played guitar. We had 3 opportunities for extra credit if we had: Bacon, LEGO, or a classic car in our presentation. They're all there!
For an intro-level English class, we may have went above and beyond what our professor was expecting. We enthusiastically volunteered to present first and nobody wanted to follow us!
Some random information about the video that probably only matters to me:
-I withdrew 200 $1 bills from my savings account to use as props for the video since I didn't know where to get prop money. It wasn't until half way through the transaction of wanting $1 bills did I realize what the teller was thinking.
-We were not permitted to drive the Porsche, sadly.
-In the first shot, I'm wearing shorts, and if you look closely, it is technically snowing.
-I had a small tree fort in our backyard for years before doing this project. I believe that was an ash tree, but we had to take it down completely so it wouldn't fall on the shed that we built.
-If you watch the opening and closing scenes, we tried doing some filming something or other. Just watch it, you'll know what I mean.
-We did actually find a llama and an emu. Coincidentally, there's an apple farm in our hometown that had both. Because why wouldn't they?
-We spent about 20 minutes in a grocery store looking for Dijon ketchup. Because we are smart. I told a from from Dijon about that and she couldn't stop laughing. Again, we're very smart.
-Believe it or not, we can't actually sing. Or maybe we can, we only did one take.
-I currently do not remember the lyrics to this song.
-The "Art" is something I found at a garage sale for $2. I have no idea where it is, but I have the perfect spot in my apartment to hang it.
-I still have some of the cash from this video in the Burger King Pokeball on my bookshelf.
-We have considered remaking this video.
-As evidenced in this video, I almost exclusively wear shorts because they are "comfy and easy to wear." (props if you get the reference)
