Wow, I must say after taking a good week of nothing to do with the game, I feel pretty good to hope on my pc now and again to play the game. Of course, I play about 4-5 times a week usually but, breaks are well deserved. Currently, I'm still taking a break in general and after, just focus on level reviews and beating some fun demons, streaming, more contests etc... But I will not be building again anytime soon for now (other than the projects and megacollabs I am currently still in).
Anyway, about the level, I gotta say I'm quite impressed with this level's atmosphere and attention to small details, compared to Destiv's previous great works such as Lion, this is much better by a mile. The obvious theme is a nice rock/volcano/lava look and personally that is one of my favorite designs to build if pulled right. Parts such as the beginning compared to the part from 62%-74% don't really feel similar in detail. The part just felt more empty and less filled in compared to the other parts. Again, that is just my opinion but the overall theme and ideas were still there so that's always good:) My favorite part would have to be 0%-20% I mean... it was so clean and details and it just flowed so well.
Now for the gameplay, I have to be honest it has lots of areas for improvement. Well, overall its fine and played quite fun sometimes, its just the transitions really. My favorite part as mentioned earlier above was the best part in terms of gameplay in my opinion. Not because of the other parts being bad (because they aren't) but it just felt much cleaner and smoother if that makes any sense. Parts such as 49%-52% just felt a little too awkward to me, it just felt all too quick and didn't mash well enough as you would want that transition to be. 77%-81% were also a tad bit awkward... Can't really say why but yeah. BUT like I said, other than those small things, the gameplay has really nice intensity and energy and the song fits everything within theme very well.
Overall I say this is a super awesome REALLY detailed level from Destriv and as usual, I can't wait to see how his next level comes out as I will be following his levels as much I was before. As for the level, I would hope this gets an Epic Easy-Medium Demon Rating, but feeling RobTop's vibes, I feel like it COULD get a feature with a high placement rating:) who knows!
