Advanced learners are everywhere, but they are not always easy to identify through traditional systems. Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth created the Baltimore Emerging Scholars program to help find and support advanced learners in Baltimore City.

Instead of relying only on testing, Emerging Scholars brings CTY-style classes into Baltimore elementary schools, where trained instructors can see students’ abilities in action. The result is a more authentic way to identify advanced learners and meet them where they are.
